Dear Jennifer - My daughter & I loved your performance in Peterborough (I was the one smiling all the way through). Would love to know if the Bacharach & David medley is available somewhere -- that was terrific -- & hope you release another CD w/ that & the Beatles medley on it. I think you should try to perform in the Philadelphia area... The Colonial in Phoenixville might be a good location for you. Thanks again. You were fantastic!

Turned on the TV to watch some golf. Fortunately, PBS was still the setting, or I would've missed seeing one of the most amazing talents I've ever witnessed. Jennifer's sincerity comes through as she acts out as well as sings her songs, a triple treat. Her beeooty and intellijents don't hurt her none, either. :)

Magnificent! Finally we once-removed-NewYorkers got a chance to see this video!! Not only are you a magnificent performer (and, as an aside, quite beautiful) but your musicians were impeccable, the arrangements were superb, and the video production itself was ideal, even including the background of passing cars, buses, and trucks (which gave it a real city feel). I loved the fact that they cut the closeups of you very tight; it made for a real intimate experience. Thank you.

Jennifer,
What a journey I just took,
Right from my sick bed
Through the great A songbook
On PBS Sunday to lighten my head.
Filled me with wonder,
The silk of your voice that is
Your charming splendor
Your ebullient fizz.
What a joy as I rest
To travel with you
While my senses congest
And I grab a tissue
In the still of the... Winter light
Through the sniffles, the tears
That you bring to my sight
Brim together with cheers.
Fauré and Poulenc do wonder
If they will ever recover
That to their rhyme you favor
The tunes of an American composer.
Well, no matter the tongue
Now that I hear you sing
This sickness won't last long
I hear my happiness ring.
Ton admirateur,
Jean

Well, all I can say is WOW! What a fantastic show!! You sounded and looked gorgeous! I love the repertoire. I love both your choices, and your delivery. Such a well put together show. Smart moving through a timeline like that for continuity, and adding your own personal timeline is beyond charming. You have a story to tell here, and your personal connections add so much. I came to tears with I'll Be Seeing You--you built that song perfectly. I also loved Two for the Road--nobody sings that gem! Your fondness for Cole Porter shines through as well, and I loved those too--I just loved all of it.
I guess the juxtaposition of your lovely youth, FLAWLESS and effortless singing, and these fab songs really grabs the listener and totally sucks one in--irresistible combo. Your sincerity re love for this repertoire is key in the performance, and your personality comes through as uncontrived and real.
Thank you for this extreme pleasure.
Again, just wow.

Dear Jennifer,
I love your singing. I have your current CD and listen to it all the time. Even performed two of the Susan Werner songs: Movie of My Life and Can't be New for a Cabaret performance here in New Haven at a musical school I attend. I'm a professional in another field, but love to sing on the side with other similarly inclined individuals. I am not a professional singer, but take classes with a classical trained singer and am part of a Cabaret group. Your singing style and song choices are continual inspirations for me.
I hope you come out with another CD, which I will be sure to purchase. Do let me know.
I'm delighted to follow and read about your continuing success and will try and see you in person at some point in NYC!! We could arrange a New Haven trip for you perhaps--lots of musically talented individuals in this Yale community. Let me know.
Best regards,
Karen

Jennifer,
I have been listening this morning to many of my favorite songs that you have shared on your YouTube channel. As always, I am blown away by your pure talent and true passion for your art.
But even more, I realize that the beauty of your performances is in the way you open up your heart and soul to your audience. I have seen you perform in person and I have felt the magic that you share with everyone in the room. Not just tricks or sleight of hand, you're really feeling the emotions and the words become your own.
I guess what I am trying to say is - your performances are so honest. Being able to be in the moment with an audience is rare and a true gift. Those of us lucky enough to have been with you during them walk way from the venue feeling that we know you - and, more importantly, that you know us.
Thank you again.

Last night's show in the suburban wilds of Passaic County was fantastic. thank you SO MUCH
for making the trip out of Gotham.
Although i am no longer a club-goer, in the 60s and 70s i had my share and travelled the world. your broadway stuff - the Stop the World I Want to Get Off number reminded me STRONGLY of anthony newley. different range but the meaning, intent was RIGHT ON. in the late 60s, I saw Mireille Mathieu in France. I also thought of her as you performed last night. as for the folk songs, you could pass for a flower child - just need a different costume, the long dress and beads.
all in all, a great "shew"!
peace, love and happiness,

Evan Chandlee - Paris, France
Jennifer,
I recently discovered your work via the press. Unfortunately our July trip to NYC will not enable us to see your show. I'm sure you do the Beatles proux and I consider Moon River a supreme ballad. The only version I've heard in years has been Brad Mehldau's. Bring on the vocal!!! I am writing you about the offerings currently on YouTube. There are several interesting tunes, but I was immediately intrigued by the presence of In the Still of the Night. I'm a great admirer of Cole Porter, but as chance would have it, I'd never really heard a vocal interpretation, just an old "floating" version by Paul Bley. I sort if felt it must be a very beautiful Porter melody, but no sense of the song. You just floored me. I checked the lyrics and saw that to better bring out the bittersweet longing you begin with the bridge. This also enables to immediately shine on the intensive love verses. A great idea that enable the pianist & you to them come out of the rubato and bring out the lovely A part melody with strong Latino rhythm. Woo! So when the whole bridge comes back in ballad time, the contrast between muted hopefulness and incipient despair is devastating. But all is not lost with the rhythm back and a little not- TOO-melancholy scat on out.
As you may have realized, I'm much more a jazz listener; I've never been to a cabaret. But this is just song, just music, like my classically trained wife said when I took her to hear Wayne Shorter. You have made a masterpiece interpretation of a truly great song, and I thank you. I decided to write you tonight (it's late here in the Paris suburbs) to make you a compliment in the form of a rhetorical question that pinpoints why I love your singing so much - no "cabaret" bravura, just giving us the beauty. The question is: How do you do SO much without ever doing TOO much.
May I conclude with a suggestion/request? I Concentrate On You. Another incredible Cole Porter bridge. Abbey Lincoln just killed with Max Roach, but none of the greats put a stamp on it. Sure hope you come to Paris 1 day. Absent a show, a recital with your moving pianist would be great. I'd produce it in a heartbeat if I had the money. Meanwhile I'm going to spread the good news with that song.

What a great show. Being entertained by Jennifer Sheehan at Feinsteins was a great birthday gift to me.

Thanks for a great night.

Jennifer,
I saw your early show last night and really enjoyed it and all the memories it brought back. And you did a great job writing. It was an amazing era wasn’t it? Even musically alone, not to mention everything else. A modern renaissance.
It’s hard to believe that some of the artists were as young as they were when they wrote and/or performed the music. Anyway, in case you don’t already know it, you may wish to check out Alfie by Cilla Black, being recorded in Abbey Road studios with Burt Bacharach. It’s the best version in my view, and apparently it was his favorite too (it was his most proud accomplishment I believe he said). They used it in the UK, but thought that in the US it wold go over better with Dionne Warwick singing it. Thanks again.

Dear Jennifer-
I ache for you! I can but imagine your disappointment; ours too, for not hearing you in that marvelous venue. I love the Algonquin and have been a loyal customer since 1952 when the Blue Room was the neatest little bar in Gotham (it is now the luggage room!) and Mabel Mercer was holding forth at Upstairs/Downstairs.
Persevere, Cabaret would be the less without your wonderful gift.
Yours aye,

You were absolutely sensational at the Arts Club Friday evening. Even more impressive—that you shined so brilliantly at a moment you were trying to cope with the loss of a dream. Believe me, many share your disappointment in the closing of our beloved Oak Room and we’re very sorry it happened just before you were to have made your debut there.
Hoping it won’t be long before that proverbial “other door” opens and you can be found in elegant surroundings, sharing your unique talents and music sensibilities with appreciative audiences.

Jennifer, I still remember when we first met you and your mom, in Taco Bell, when you were four. When you and Micaela played, you always put on shows, and at four, you knew all the words and carried the tune perfectly and with such feeling. I said to your mom then (she already knew of course), “That child is bound for the stage!” Where you are now in life is part hard work, part musical gift that you share so generously in a world where we need music as much as we need the air we breathe. My very best to you, Jennifer. Next time you perform in St. Louis I will make every effort to be there! Take care, honey. Kathy

I loved your show 3/25. The CD recreates the memory of it wonderfully. I have passed your name along to a venue in Evanston, Illinois called SPACE where Nellie McKay sold out a couple of months ago. I love all the songs on your new CD, but “I’ll Be Seeing You” is very special to me.
You have a variety of uses of your voice - different characterizations - which bring the songs to life. You’re such a good performer!
Congratulations on your award - being the first to receive the Noel Coward Cabaret Award is a very special designation!

Jennifer,
I hope it’s a marvelous party
with Steve and Elaine and KT:
all the music, I bet,
will be hard to forget,
it’s the place I regret
I can’t be.
When Jennifer sings it is heaven.
She smiles, and our feet leave the floor.
She captures, controls and rewards our attention,
she’ll bring down the house at the Mercer convention,
the critics will rave - by the way, did I mention?
She couldn’t deserve it more.
Break a leg.
Love,
Peter

Everyone was enchanted by your performance at The Copland House Sunday. Absolutely sensational!
The song selection was wonderful, the pacing was seamless, with no dead spots or throwaway tunes; each song was a perfectly realized little show; of course there were no particular standout numbers - each and every number was a standout.
I have only one bit of serious advice to offer: keep on doing exactly what you are doing, and the cabaret world is yours.

Just looking through your website and reading all that you have done and accomplished so far just amazes me. Of course after hearing and seeing you, it isn’t that amazing because you are an incredible performer and a captivating person. You have a great feel for the music you sing and a great feel for the audience you are performing for. You had the audience “right there,” and they stayed there until you were finished. You are destined for great things.

I saw your show on a great trip to New York, along with 3 other shows, including Aretha Franklin, but your show was the highlight. Your elegance humour and stunning voice made it a wonderful show and the surroundings made it very intimate. I will certainly try to see you again - please come to England!!

We just loved it, every moment. You gave such a great overview of yourself - the songs I have heard which I know you love and the many others which I had not heard you sing before. It was a generous program - and there was more singing than talking which I really like, even though it is a cabaret. You are a great comedienne, and dancer, and you can bring tears to my eyes as well. What more could you ask?

Your show last Friday night was fantastic - I thought I had a decent background in the Great American Songbook, but I think that every single song you sang was new to me! I especially loved “What Are You Doing for the Rest of Your Life?” and “I’m Not New.”
You gave a wonderful, funny, engaging performance. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

I saw your show and sensational is the word for it! You have one of the best voices I’ve ever heard and chose some of our finest American songs. You’re poignant, intelligent, funny, charming, etc.

I don’t know how you did it, but you have created a perfect show.
I just HAD to tell you again what a fantastic show you have! I am well aware of your mad skills as a vocalist (and they are MAD), but you impressed me even more with your cabaret. It was so well-thought and organized. The songs you included - both familiar and obscure - felt like the perfect highlights to our history and motivated me to do research of my own. I loved your stories! Your humor and sincerity were genuine (and well-placed). It is obvious you have put a lot of time and energy in craftng this presentation! It was a joy to experience.

Jennifer, what a wonderful time I had at your show. Your voice and your smile are both beyond compare. And your choice of music was so engaging; I laughed and cried - often at the same time! Your obvious passion for the Great American Song Book, and the stories behind the songs, captivated your audience! Truly an “enchanted evening”!
If anyone hasn’t made it to the show, make your reservation now for Friday night! You really do not want to miss this!

Dear Jennifer,
Friends invited me to your show last nightt and I’m delighted they did. What a wonderful evening it was! The room was transfixed, as you deftly took us from moments of heartbreaking tenderness to heart-pounding passion, and sometimes to heart-stopping laughter!
It takes not only a fine actress to pull that off, but a singer with remarkable versatility. You were as effective with the low, sultry blues songs as you were with the Broadway belt numbers and the soaring soprano classics. I loved the variety.
And what a treat it was to learn more about the songs - and about you - through the stories a you shared. There were more than a few moist eyes in the house on a couple of occasions.
Thank you for a very special and memorable evening, Jennifer. I hope you will have many, many more opportunities to move others as you moved me and my friends last night!

Loved your show last night (Sep. 18). Your singing was wonderful, but I was especially impressed by your stories and transitions between the songs—that must be so hard to pull off, but you did it beautifully. Kept us enthralled and engaged. Can’t wait to come hear you again!

Thank you so much for coming to St. Louis and providing us with a world class show on Saturday evening. Your lovely personality shined through as you introduced us to the music. Such an exquisite voice that has so much expression is rarely experienced outside the major opera houses. The repertoire was well balanced; I’m so glad you introduced us to the new music that you enjoy! I hope you will continue to be a big hit in my “home town” of NYC. I wish you continued success.

Dear Jennifer,
Please know ow absolutely wonderful your performance was on Sunday. Your old principal sat in tears half the time because your voice was so clear and beautiful, your manner so lovely, your poise so evident, and the story you put together and delivered to us was both fun and sad, sensitive, yet with some frivolity, too.
You were masterful, to say the least, and the Travises and the McCallies absolutely loved you. All our best to you and your family.

It was a really wonderful evening.
What a voice! And what presence! And lovely to look at, not in some pin-up kind of way, but elegant beauty. The whole package, voice, feeling, personality, and song-selection. I really liked the new songs, too. That sorta surprised me. But they, and you, were great.
